About These Terms
These terms apply to your use of this website and to any booking made through The Honest Plumber Marylebone, 2 Bentinck St, London W1U 2FA, telephone 07782 221769. By calling, texting or sending a form, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What We Do, and What We Do Not
We run a matching and booking line, not a plumbing or heating company. You tell us what is wrong and where. We look for a local partner company that can reach you and suits the fault, and we pass your details to it. We do not carry out plumbing, heating or drainage work ourselves, and our own staff do not attend your property. The jobs we arrange are listed on the services page, and the steps are set out in How We Work.
Your Contract Is With the Partner
The partner company is independently owned and operated. It is not part of The Honest Plumber Marylebone, and the contract for the work is between you and that company. It decides how the job is done, which parts are used and what is charged. Before anyone arrives, we text you the partner company's name so that you know who to expect.
Quotes and Prices
The partner gives you a quote in writing before work begins, setting out parts, labour and any call-out charge. Nothing we say on the phone or on this site is a quote. Price ranges here are published London figures and are guides only. You are free to decline a quote, and any charge for attendance or diagnosis should be made clear in writing first.
Payment
We do not take payment for plumbing, heating or drainage work and we do not issue invoices for it. The partner company invoices you and collects payment directly, on terms it sets out in its quote. Please pay only the company named in our text and on its invoice.
If Something Goes Wrong
Tell the partner company first, since it did the work and is best placed to put it right. If you cannot reach a resolution, ring 07782 221769 and we will chase it on your behalf. Keep your written quote, photographs and messages. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
Limits on Our Responsibility
Our part is limited to taking your enquiry and arranging a match, so far as the law allows. We are not responsible for the quality, timing or cost of the partner's work, or for delays caused by access, parking, weather or building restrictions. We do not exclude liability that the law does not allow us to exclude, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
Buildings, Landlords and Consents
Many properties in Marylebone are leasehold, estate-owned or listed. It is for you to check whether a landlord, managing agent or freeholder must approve works, and whether listed-building or conservation-area consent is needed. We can raise the question when you ring, but we cannot give legal advice or grant any consent.
Emergencies and Gas
If you smell gas or suspect a leak, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency number, 0800 111 999. For fire, flood danger to life or electrical risk, call 999. Our line is not an emergency service.
Your Information
We pass your name, number, address and a description of the problem to the partner company so that it can contact you and arrive prepared. We use your details to run the booking and for no other purpose. Contact us to ask for a correction or removal.
